Our wedding is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to bring together all the people we love. Selfishly, we want to stretch that beyond the few short hours that a traditional wedding at home would give us.

We’ve booked out an entire resort on one of Bali’s hidden secrets, the beautiful black sand beach of Batu Tampih.
Bali Beach Glamping serves up safari chic in a lush tropical setting, with beds that are like sleeping in a cloud. Choose from the following accommodation options:
Bali’s main airport is Denpasar (DPS), just an hour’s drive from the venue. Air New Zealand flies direct from Auckland ($1200 return, cheaper when on special), or you can take a Qantas or Jetstar flight via Australia.

We know this is a big trip with a lot of logistics, so we’ve added some information below to answer questions you may have!
Yes! Just don’t drink the tap water. This includes using bottled water (provided) to brush your teeth and not opening your mouth in the shower. At the resort, all the food and drink served is safe, but if you’re travelling off the beaten path check if ice is made from bottled water and avoid salads and other fresh food that might not have been washed properly.
The people in Bali are kind and friendly, the culture is modest (cover up bikinis if you’re outside the beach/resort) and a few local phrases go a long way. ‘Terima kasih’ means thank you, and you’ll hear back ‘sama sama’—you’re welcome.
Your presence at our wedding in Bali is the greatest gift we could ask for, and we do not expect anything more. We know the journey to join us is a significant one, and having you there to celebrate with us is what matters most.
However, for those who have expressed a wish to honour us with a gift, we are creating a collective fund for a special piece of art to commemorate our marriage.
Our vision is to have this piece hanging in our home as a lasting memory of our celebration and the people who shared it with us. We look forward to you seeing it and remembering the day together whenever you come to visit us in the future.
Step 1: Fly to Bali
From NZ you will fly into Bali Denpasar (DPS). The Air NZ direct flight arrives at 4.20pm, and if you do your e-Visa and immigration in advance (see below) you should be through before 5pm.
Step 2: Taxi to Bali Beach Glamping
Uber is available in Bali, but you will have cheaper pricing and more options if you download Grab or Gojek. Or, arrange a driver in advance—the resort can give you a driver’s details and you’ll pay a set rate of 350,000 (NZ$35) to get to BBG. The drive will be 1.5–2.5 hours, depending on traffic.
Arrival: For those coming from NZ, we recommend flying on Thursday 24th, but you can also fly on Friday 25th (Matariki public holiday in NZ) and you’ll be there the day before the wedding.
If you want to make a longer holiday of it, we recommend a few days either in Ubud (1 hour north) where you can stay in luxurious villas amongst the rice paddies, or Uluwatu (1.5 hour south), home to Bali’s best resorts and beach clubs.
Flights from NZ to Bali via Australia with Jetstar are $700 return when on special. There is a direct option on Air NZ for $1200 on sale.
Accommodation at the resort starts from $150 per night for 2 people, and includes breakfast. All the events listed on the wedding schedule are our shout.

Hotels and restaurants accept cards, and if you use app services for taxis (e.g. Grab or Gojek) you can easily get through your holiday without any cash. However, if you want to go to markets, temples, or provide tips for service (see below) cash will come in handy.
Indonesian Rupiah are roughly 1000:1 with the New Zealand dollar. So if you see a fresh coconut for 20,000 on a menu, that’s NZ$2.
Some menus will drop the 000 (this will be noted on the small print at the bottom), in this case 150 is actually 150,000 or NZ$15.
Most passports, including NZ and Colombia, can get a visa on arrival. To short cut any airport queues we recommend applying online before you travel, and will send out more details on this closer to the time.
Tipping is not expected, and most restaurant bills will include a gratuity in the price. However if you’re getting massages, room service etc, you may wish to have some small change—wages here are very low so a tip means a lot.
Bali in June enjoys warm, sunny, and (hopefully!) dry weather, making it one of the best months to visit. Here’s what you can expect:
Temperature: 28–31°C (82–88°F) with overnight lows of 22°C / 72°F
Humidity: Moderate and comfortable
Rainfall: Hopes and prayers gratefully accepted
Sea conditions: Calm and clear—excellent for snorkelling, diving, and swimming
We don’t want to be too prescriptive, but we know our group photos will look amazing with a bit of a theme, so we ask you to wear light coloured clothing (even white is ok) and solid colours. No patterns or dark clothing please :)
It will be hot, so no need for suit jackets and definitely no ties, but let’s still keep it classy. Collared shirts, dress shorts, evening or cocktail dresses. Jandals acceptable always :D
This day is special to us and we want to spend quality time connecting deeply with our closest friends. We ask that you leave the kids at home so that you will be able to be fully present and enjoy our time together.
